Tasting Notes:
In 2008, we the found right conditions to continue our Reserve Chardonnay program. We only make the Reserve in years that we feel that the fruit is capable of handling the amount of oak that we use in the Reserve program. Like its predecessor, this wine was barrel fermented with indigenous yeast in 100% new oak barrels, and aged on the lees for over 8 months with no malo-lactic fermentation. However, the 2008 is very approachable now and has great fruit concentration, with lemon drop, melon and baked apple aromas, and lots of toasty oak. On the palate, the wine delivers rich and complex flavors of citrus, stone fruit and crème brulee. We only made five barrels of this wine! Enjoy it well-chilled with Dungeness crab, Fettuccine Alfredo or grilled salmon.
